IT was pupils ‘to the rescue’ when they helped police track down a ‘missing’ teddy bear at Lewannick Primary School recently.

Over the last few weeks officers from Launceston Neighbourhood Team have carried out school engagements at the school as part of their ‘To the rescue!’ theme.

During the first session students learnt about the role of a firefighter through the team’s PCSO/retained firefighter.

Students then helped officers solve a mock crime scene, where the classroom was broken into and ‘Milly’ the teddy bear had been stolen from the school!

The class examined the scene, questioned potential suspects and carried out mock finger printing, resulting in the ‘arrest’ of the offender.

‘Milly’ the teddy bear was safely returned to the class through their hard work and detective skills.

A spokesperson for Launceston Neighbourhood Team said: “No teddy bears were harmed during the incident!”
