LEWANNICK Patient Participation Group held a Christmas lunch at the Archers Arms in the village on Friday, December 9.

The group are part of the Carnewater Practice Group, based in Bodmin, and aim to make the experience of going to the surgery for patients more pleasureable and not a chore by siding of the patient but also act as a critical friend to the practice.

Twelve members of the practice, including eight from Bodmin and four from the Lewannick area, tucked into their lunch before a game of ‘open the box’ was enjoyed.

Elected chairman, Maggi Woods, said: “I’d like to thank everyone for coming along and to the Archers Arms, the food was wonderful.

“I’d also like to thank the groups for their efforts this year and if you know of anyone who’d like to get involved then please get in touch.”

In the new year a survey is to be released highlighting the importance of transport and access to surgeries, while another health fair is in the process of being organised.

In May they will also be involved in the village Mayfair within Lewannick on May 1.
