THIS South West League match between Bude and Torpoint was subject to a delayed start but both teams were up for the game and it was 10-man Torpoint who looked the better side from the off.

With Bude heads still in the warm changing room the visitors had room to push on and opened the scoring with a powerful shot bounding in off the underside of the crossbar. The visitors enjoyed further pressure and the home side played some scrappy football to counteract.

After the break Bude came out fighting and began to use the full width of the pitch. With Leona Marsh on fire it was not long until she had levelled the score.

Almost all of the play remained with Bude for the second half - Lizzy Jenkins hit the crossbar, and Bude won numerous free kicks and corners only to be denied by the 'keeper. It was a Lizzy Jenkins trademark free kick from the right that took Bude into the lead, and she almost repeated it from the left shortly after.

Throughout the second half Bude went back to playing simple football and this paid off again with 15 minutes to go as Anita Symons and Leona Marsh played a one-two around the Torpoint defence for Leona to score her second and Bude's third.
