The women’s section of the Royal British Legion at Launceston held their Christmas party at Edymead where members enjoyed a festive meal prepared by the committee.
Secretary Jennie Bailey presented chairman Pat May with a jewel of office. It had been given to Launceston from the Camelford women’s section, which has now disbanded.
Jennie was also given a round of applause when she showed members the Burnard Hitchens Memorial Statuette she had been awarded at the Cornwall County AGM, for her efforts as the branch standard bearer.
The evening concluded with a quiz and the Christmas raffle.
The photo shows members of the women’s section with chairman Pat May in the centre (in the black and white top), wearing her new regalia and Jennie Bailey holding the statuette.
