ON JUNE 18, the chairman of Holsworthy Hamlets Parish Council was privileged to welcome Cllr John Hart, Leader of Devon County Council, to the meeting.

Cllr Hart gave a presentation on the inroads the county council has made to achieve government targets on managing and reducing local government spending whilst continuing to maintain services to a high standard.

The parish councillors expressed their appreciation of Cllr Hart visiting the parish council, acknowledging the 408 parishes in Devon.

The chairman thanked Cllr Hart for the significant works undertaken recently to bring local roads up to an improved standard and in particular for addressing the problem of Manworthy Mill Road which will be a key service link to the proposed Agri Business Park.
