A BERNESE Mountain Dog from Sutcombe, has made her owner proud after being awarded ‘very highly commended’ at this year’s Crufts competition.

Tamarbern Dusky Maiden — aka Layla — made owner Chris Wood very proud over the weekend as she came away from the world’s biggest dog showing competition being very highly commended in her class.

Layla was awarded ‘very highly commended’. Chris said: “I’m so pleased as she is eight and a half, and was competing against much younger and European dogs. She has achieved so much since I re-homed her and novices in the dog show ring, and made me and the West Country proud!”
