Dear Editor,

Last week you published my letter in the Ross Gazette regarding the need to recycle medication.

Since then I have received information from Intercare, who have been recycling unwanted medication since the 1970s.

Unfortunately EU legislation and the recent tightening of the rules on Good Distribution Practice (GDP) by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) means that they are having to phase out recycling of patient returned medicines over the next few months.

I feel deeply saddened by this turn of events and know of no other means of usefully recycling unused medications.

Herefordshire We Can.
