THE Zig Zag footpath in Launceston once connected the railway station to the town and now offers an alternative route for pedestrians wanting to go from the Newport area to the town centre.

Often used by local residents, over the years the path has suffered at the hands of vandals who have used the walls for spraying unsightly graffiti.

However, local artist Dorian Weeks recently teamed up with friend and fellow artist Andy Knights to cover the old 'tags' with vibrant pieces of art for the townsfolk to enjoy. The pair collaborated over three days to paint the wall with their contemporary graffiti style artistry, sketching out rough designs before setting to work with spray paints and pots of paint.

Most of the paint was provided by Andy, who was keen to get started having seen the opportunity he and Dorian had to do some artwork.
