LAUNCESTON'S third illuminated carnival saw a record number of entries last Saturday (October 13).
The parade, led by Launceston Fire and Rescue Service, the town band, and Launceston's new carnival royalty, wound it's way from Newport Industrial Estate, through the narrow streets to the Town Square to the delight of hundreds of spectators lining the streets.
Launceston's Carnival Queen, Fairy Queen and Attendants all looked dazzling in their carnival dresses and brightly lit float.
They were met by cheering crowds and proud parents, and greeted by the public address announcer.
