SASKIA Sills, from Launceston, was influenced to take up windsurfing by her brother when she was just seven years old and after discovering a natural flair for the sport, entered her first competition in 2005 aged just nine.

After obtaining first place in the U15 World Championships on the Techno Windsurfing circuit, 13-year-old Saskia is a rising star in the sport.

She regularly trains with her twin sister on a local lake twenty-five minutes from where she lives and as part of the RYA National Junior squad, trains five weekends in the winter.
