THE Christmas tree has arrived in Launceston, and is standing proud in the town square.
It arrived on Friday and the Christmas lights are set to be switched on tonight (Thursday) at 6.30pm.
Chamber of Commerce chairman Sue Issleib helped put the tree up along with chamber members Spencer, Mike and David.
She thanked South West Lakes Trust for donating the tree from Roadford, to Goz and Steve from Glendale who felled the tree, and to Kim and Gareth who operated the hiab lorry.
Richard Iveson, manager of Jewson, continued the company’s traditional support by transporting and helping to erect the tree in the square.
