This year, Launceston's Christmas tree will be decorated with small cardboard stars, each one remembering and celebrating the life of someone special.

Memory stars grew from the shared experiences of families at the children's hospice who described how helpful it was to find a tangible way to remember the children who are no longer with them.

In recognition of this, people throughout the South West are making a donation to Children's Hospice South West and dedicating a star to someone they love; sending a unique Christmas message and helping the children's hospices to continue to care for the children in their care.

Stars are available locally from the Cards for Good Causes shop at Central Methodist Church, and Webbers Estate Agent in the Square or by ringing 01271 325270. By supporting Children's Hospice South West Memory Star Appeal you will be giving children who are still with us a memorable Christmas. For some, sadly it may be their last.

Come and see the tree at the Late Night Shopping event on Friday, December 11 from 6pm onwards.

Thanks have been given to the people that have been involved with the collection of the tree and the erection of it on Friday.
