LAUNCESTON'S Community Market celebrated its first birthday recently and following its 'Giving Back to the Community' philosophy donated £500 each to The Cornwall and Devon Air Ambulances, bringing their total donations to nearly £1,800 in the first year.
Daring to cross the border, Matt Woodley, from BBC Radio Devon, accepted a cheque on behalf of the Devon Air Ambulance from David Thompson of Castle Street, Launceston, who was himself assisted by the Air Ambulance after suffering a severe heart attack at home.
