LAUNCESTON Women's Hockey Club are looking for their next goalkeeper.

The 2009/10 season is about to start and the squad have been working hard to improve their fitness with the help of FA fitness coach, Matt Luxton, and his gruelling regime. Hockey skills training commenced at Callington School every Tuesday 7:30 to 8:30pm starting September 8 under the expert eye of Claire Worden, who is training the squad for the second

consecutive year.

They are keen to recruit new players for this season, in particular they would like to find a goalkeeper who is happy to 'job share' with their current 'keeper Becky Clifford. Unfortunately, due to work commitments, Becky is unable to play every week, and the team has felt her absence by conceding some soft goals in the previous season. You do not need to have previous goalkeeping experience as support and training will be given.

If you are interested in being part of a friendly local team who play in the West Clubs Hockey League, Trelawney Division 2, please come along to training or call the team captain Jan Potter on 07749 821477. The age of their players ranges from 14 years to 50 years, and more mature players are very welcome. Hockey club membership is also available at a reduced rate to anyone who would like to come to training session for fitness and fun, but not play in matches.
