At the recent District Convention of Lions Clubs International for clubs in the South West, the Lions Club of Launceston won the Travelling Lion trophy for the second year running. This is awarded for the most visits made by a club in the South West. This can be for visiting club meetings, attending club Charter Anniversary Dinners or by assisting with activities organised by the club. At the convention Lion Christine Rowe from Launceston was elected as District Governor for 2009-2010 and takes office on July 1, 2009
