LAUNCESTON is to be the venue for a major recruitment drive next Tuesday.

Cornwall Care, the county's largest provider of care for older people, is creating many new nursing jobs this New Year as part of the recruitment drive.

The organisation says it needs to expand its team of dedicated and committed nurses to ensure the highest quality of care for those coming into its care homes with more complex needs.

Six posts need to be filled immediately, but the organisation is always looking for nurses interested in long-term career opportunities.

Cornwall Care will be holding the special recruitment event in Launceston on January 17 between 2pm and 8pm, where people can apply for a job and be interviewed on the same day.

Most of the jobs will be based at Cedar Grange, a purpose-built, 60-bed residential home in Launceston, although other positions may be available across the county, including at Athelstan in Bodmin and Chyvarhas in Callington.
