A NUMBER of members of the public went along to Launceston Town Hall last Friday afternoon to see the plans for the hall's refurbishment project.

Mayor of Launceston, Paul O'Brien, told the 'Post' what he thought of the plans: "They're brilliant but long overdue. Everyone I've spoken to in the town has said we're doing something good. It's starting to move again.

"The building has been badly neglected for too long. That's visible without looking underneath the surface."

Work is due to start on the town hall refurbishment on March 1.
