PLANS for five new homes in Launceston were praised at the town council’s planning committee meeting last week.
Walter Wonnacott, of Peter Wonnacott Planning, attended the meeting on Thursday, October 20, to present on behalf of the applicant plans to build five dwellings on land north of Chapel Park Terrace.
The meeting heard the outline application was an ‘illustrative’ plan, with all matters reserved apart from the access, although Mr Wonnacott told the committee: “We have sought to try to provide as much thorough information and survey work as possible. The application doesn’t include any removal of hedgerows, trees or cutting back.”
He added: “Each of the five dwellings is a comfortable size. They would have rather spectacular views from the back garden in a southerly direction.
“Five is the maximum under this permission that could be there and that’s really what would fit this site I think.
“There’s plenty of room there for at least two parking spaces on the driveways of each.”
Cllr John Conway said: “It’s very pleasant to see we have got an application for houses with a garden.
“They’ve got room to park cars, room for people to breathe, where you can bring your kids up and they’ve got a good garden to play in. It’s the sort of houses this town needs.”
Town councillors voted to support the application. The decision on the planning application rests with Cornwall Council.
