FIVE small Cornish village schools have formally agreed to form the Launceston Rural Learning Trust.

They are changing their status over the summer to become Foundation Schools and form a Co-operative Trust.

The establishment of the trust was agreed by school governors from all five schools in a meeting at Tregadillett Primary School on July 19.

The five primary schools are Altarnun, Egloskerry, South Petherwin, Tregadillett and Trekenner.

They will remain entirely separate schools but by working in partnership they will be improving capacity, embedding sustainability and further raising standards.
