ORGANISATIONS from Launceston, St Breward and Callington are among those in the South West who have started 2011 very well with funding for their community projects.
St Stephens Community Primary School at Launceston is to receive £10,000, while Callington Community College is to land £9,000 and St Breward Community Primary School is to get funding of £5,300.
The grants — which together total more than £440,000 — come from Big Lottery Fund's Awards for All funding programme and have been awarded to a wide range of projects right across the region.
Mark Cotton, the Big Lottery Fund's Head of South West region, said: "What a great start to the new year for these groups. This funding is going to have a significant impact on communities right across the region, whether improving people's health and well-being, helping them to develop new skills, or giving them a chance to enjoy new activities."
