St Stephen’s Community Academy in Launceston has been awarded ‘best breakfast club’ in the South West.

As part of the Kellogg’s Breakfast Grants for Schools, the school has been awarded £1,000 to purchase new resources and equipment for those who attend the ‘Early Start’ breakfast club.

A panel of judges selected St Stephen’s Community Academy as an exemplary breakfast club. Am awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 17, in the Houses of Parliament in London.

A spokesperson from the schools said: “Our club provides such important provision for our students, it gives an opportunity to connect to their school community at the start of the day and prepares them for learning.”

Mrs. Furber, the school’s headteacher and who applied for the grant, will attend the ceremony with Mrs. Baxter who manages the club, to represent the school.
