MEMBERS of Launceston Rotary Club, along with a number of willing volunteers, helped to move fittings and furniture following the temporary closure of the Community Shop.

As previously reported in the 'Post,' the Rotary Club has been running the Rotary Community Shop in Launceston since August 1.

They persuaded an estate agent and a shop owner to let them use the shop on a rent free basis on the argument that a busy shop was a lot easier to rent out than an empty one.

Unfortunately they were a victim of their own success because before they moved in the shop had been empty for nearly two years and after only seven weeks of them being in, a local company has rented the building, so Rotary had to get out and put their shop fittings and stock into storage at fairly short notice.
