LAUNCESTON Rotarian Barrie Boundy recently presented a cheque to Jane Moore for her work with the Dementia Action Alliance in the area.

Jane said: "There are over 800,000 people living with dementia in the UK and, with the global impact, people all over the world are struggling to deal with the confusion, isolation, sadness and grief these diseases bring.

"Since 2006 I have looked after my mother who has Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia, and felt that there was little support available both for the elderly and people with early onset of what is now known to be a terminal illness."
