THE Rotary Club of Launceston is calling on the generous community of North Cornwall to help with the terrible tragedy that has hit Burma. The Rotary Charity 'ShelterBox' has workers on the ground. They have visas and are already distributing aid following Cyclone Nargis. A Rotary spokesman said: "We need to send them, as a matter of urgency, ShelterBoxes. Each box costs approximately £500 and will accommodate 10 people, provide vital water purification and essential equipment. You can donate on line at http://www.shelterbox.org">www.shelterbox.org or through your local Rotary Club Treasurer Rotarian Kim Kinvig at Underhayes Cottage, Underhayes Lane, Launceston, PL15 8HA. Please make cheques payable to ShelterBox. "In addition, by kind permission of the manager of Tesco, the Rotary Club will be collecting outside Tesco on Friday and Saturday, May 16 and 17."
