ROTARY District 1290's Overseas Project Team, including Launceston Rotarians, is preparing for yet another convoy of fire/rescue vehicles to The Republic of Kosova. The project will be the team's 57th.

Although the war in Kosova ended some 12 years ago the Republic is finding it difficult to re-build its infrastructure after it was seriously damaged in 1999.

In particular the country's fire service is in a poor state but Rotary is trying to put this right.

Thanks to the generosity of Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service, three Land Rover fire/rescue vehicles have been donated to Rotary for Kosova.

The team have acquired equipment from various parts of the country and each vehicle will carry 250 litres of water, pumps for delivering it, crash rescue equipment, HazChem suits and beaters for forest fires.
