ON Thursday April 9 the Road to Wimbledon came to Launceston Tennis Club. In a nut shell all club winners across the UK advance to the county finals and the county winners progress through to the national finals held at Wimbledon in August.

This competition is open to all players aged 14 and under that are tennis club members. Launceston had a combination of players who were experiencing their first taste in competition and for others they were serious contenders.

Abigail Logg defeated a spirited Tamara Boundy in the girls' final and the boys' final saw Luke Roberts defeat Thomas Boundy.

Launceston Tennis Club wishes Abigail and Luke the very best of luck in the county finals.

The competition was run by head coach James Brobin, many more competitions are in the pipeline for Launceston Tennis Club under the guidance of James as one of his objectives is to provide coaching and competition for all ages and stages of ability at the club.
