RESIDENTS of Launceston's South Ward will have a chance to vote for a new councillor next Thursday (February 9). The vacancy was caused by the death of Cllr Olver Harris, who had served the town as a councillor for many years. There are five candidates: Ashley Crapp, a community volunteer, standing as Independent; Maurice John Davey (Liberal Democrat), Anna Elizabeth Duke, Leighton Penhale and Susan Roberts Alfar (Labour Party). Voting takes place at Launceston Town Hall from 7am to 10pm. No poll cards have been issued for this election, so if you are registered in the ?South Ward, you are entitled to vote.

The candidates have given a short biography of themselves and what they hope to achieve for Launceston, in this week's edition of the 'Post'.
