PUPILS at St Stephens Community Academy in Launceston took part in ‘Road Safety Awareness Week’ recently, and learned about how to stay safe on the roads.

As part of the week, the Pupil Forum and UNICEF members organised a ‘Bright Day’ on Friday, November 25 — all linked to being seen on the road.

Pupils came to school dressed in their brightest clothes and paid a £1 donation to the charity ‘Brake’.

The charity organises Road Safety Awareness Week and, amongst other things, supports bereaved families who have lost family members or friends through accidents on the road, as well as seriously injured individuals.

A total of £157.60 was raised and the money has now been sent to the ‘Brake’ charity.
