The celebration plans are in place and Launceston has events happening each day, with something for everyone.
The bunting is up and the knitters have done a fantastic display around the memorial and on the post box, a spokesperson added: “We are nearly there.”
There are Jubilee mugs on sale, funding for the free events and the Jubilee Legacy Benches will be covered by the sale of the mugs. There is only one print run for these mugs so don’t miss out — they cost £7.50 each and are on sale in The Sourdough Bakery, The Byre, M4KE, Pats Greetings Cards, The Flap Jack Shack, Launceston Rotary Shop and the Tourist Information Centre.
The events have been put together by local community organisations and bodies working as one to make Launceston the place to be for this historic time, including; Launceston Town Council, Launceston Chamber of Commerce, Launceston County Councillors, Launceston Road Runners, Launceston Rotary, Launceston Lions, Launceston Town Band, LVFS, Launceston Town Square Events, Coronation Park Trust. Sponsors include Fernbank Advertising, Tesco, Greggs, Flowers by Donna, Flapjack Shack and Cakeaway. On behalf of the organising committee Launceston’s Deputy Mayor Cllr Helen Bailey said: “We have some amazing groups and people in our town.”
To kick things off there will be a ‘Jubilee Trail for Children’ during half-term. Call in to the Tourist Information Centre to collect the entry form. This event is free to enter.
