POLICE in Launceston are asking parents to be mindful of how and where they park their vehicles as pupils and students return to school and college this week.

They are urging parents to be ‘patient’ with each other as well as consider people living in the areas around schools.

A spokesperson added: “Especially with the new parents to the schools dropping their little ones off for the first time, they are not going to know what the routine is for dropping off and picking up.

“Please do not park on the zig zag lines. They are put there for the children’s safety and should not be used just because you might have to walk a little way with your child or you are late getting them to school. Please be mindful of the residents around the schools. Please do not block them in — they have their own lives to lead.”
