CRITICISM from Launceston Town Council that a shop sign for the off-licence in the Square was not in keeping with the appearance of area, has been rebuffed by the company concerned. The sign above the off-licence, formerly known as Thresher's but more recently re-named 'The Local' has had the words 'Discount Booze' in large letters added to its title.
