A MOTHER from Launceston has lost four stone in twenty weeks and is well on the way to her target of six, which will enable her to do a parachute jump as part of a £1 million campaign to support the service which saved her baby daughter.
Andrea Fowler's daughter spent the first critical days of her life fighting for survival in intensive care. When Olivia was born without a connection between her heart and lungs, she required immediate care at the region's specialist Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Michael's Hospital in Bristol, followed by life-saving cardiac surgery.
The family are now saying thank you to the hospital team by supporting a new charity initiative, the 'Cots for Tots' Appeal. The campaign aims to raise £1m to provide a new suite of four intensive care cots and dedicated family accommodation for NICU.
