LAUNCESTON Motorcycle Club held their annual awards dinner at Trethorne Leisure Park. Although the weather conditions were not good, most people managed to attend and an enjoyable evening was had by all.

The club decided to make the Precious Lives Appeal their charity for the year and a cheque was presented for £500.00, but during the evening a draw and a 'Name The Bear' competition raised a further £150.00 making the total donated £650.00.

The cheque was received by Mrs Lavinia Archer and Mr Bill Burtonwood representing the charity. Mrs Archer thanked everyone and gave an insight into the work that the Children's Hospice South West is involved in, not only for the children concerned but the support of their families. The Precious Lives Appeal is to help fund a hospice in Cornwall for life limited children. Mr Burtonwood presented the trophies
