A RETAINED firefighter from Launceston Fire Brigade, recognised for his professionalism and reliability, has retired after 33 years' service. Peter Penhorwood has attended many of the major incidents which have occurred in the town over the years. He started as a firefighter at Callington in 1978, before taking up a position at Launceston in 1988/89. Station Manager Gary Chapman said: "His enthusiasm and dedication to the community has never altered and he will be greatly missed."
