DAVEY'S Livestock Transport Ltd of Tregadillett House, Tregadillett, was fined £1,000 plus costs of £1,750 and a victim surcharge fee of £15 on Wednesday, January 26 after appearing before Bodmin Magistrates' Court on January 11 charged with transporting an unfit cow from Lower Truscott Farm, Launceston to an abattoir near Falmouth — but both the company and its managing director are planning to appeal against their convictions.

Mr Colin Davey, Company Director of Davey's Livestock Transport Ltd was also ordered to pay £500 plus costs of £850 and a £15 victim surcharge, having been charged with the obstruction of an animal health inspector employed by Cornwall Council's Public Health and Protection Service.
