THE launch of the Launceston group of Contact the Elderly was held on Sunday, March 11, at the home of Barrie and Ann Boundy in St Stephen, Launceston. It was a wonderful afternoon with the guests delighted with the laughter and chat, to say nothing of the wonderful spread laid on for tea; homemade sausage rolls and trifle being the favourites! One of the guests remarked that she would have been sitting at home on her own, with no-one to talk to if she hadn't come, and that she already had the date of the April meeting in her diary, as it had been such a fun time! Some of the future hosts were at the tea party too and could tell the guests when they were coming to visit them, and about where they lived. The next event is at North Petherwin on a farm, May at Trebursye, and the June one is out at Egloskerry, which are already being looked forward to as visits to the countryside which hopefully will be looking at its best.
