MRS Sarah Cooke, as reported in last week's 'Post,' is to be made a Bard at the Cornish Gorsedd at Camelford on Saturday, September 1.
Sarah, who lives in Launceston with her husband, has been awarded her Bardship for her examination in the Cornish Language and for her continuing work for Cornwall. She has been studying the Cornish language since her return to Cornwall and was successful in all the examinations of the Cornish Language Board.
Sarah, whose maiden is Hicks was brought up in Boscastle and attended Sir James Smith's Grammar School in Camelford, leaving in 1962, the year in which the school became comprehensive and moved to its present site.
