LAUNCESTON lady, Val Hoadley, will continue to promote her book, 'A Time of Change' — which raises funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care — with a visit to Spencer Thorn Book Shop in Bude next Thursday (April 28).
This is a moving account of her journey with her husband from Spain, where they had lived for several years, to Cornwall where they settled in Launceston looking forward to a new stage in their lives.
It was not to be for a few months later, out of the blue, her husband was diagnosed with cancer and less than a month later he was dead.
Her journey continued alone as, struggling to cope with her grief and build a new life in an area she had hardly begun to know, she continued her journey from the darkness of death into the light.
