Past and present members and friends celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Launceston Methodist Ladies Tuesday Group on Tuesday, January 20 with a meal and entertainment at Launceston Golf Club. Formerly called a Young Wives and Mothers' Group, it changed its title in 1976 when the ladies groups of Tower Street and Wesley amalgamated, enabling single ladies and the not so young to join. Founder members Mrs C Horrell and Mrs M Moffat cut the cake, which was donated by Tesco, after which they shared memories of the early days. The entertainment was provided by members Mrs T Irving and Mrs R Wood.
