THIS year has seen a massive change to the way police resources are situated and deployed, said PS Aaron Ward, from Launceston Police.
In a report supplied to Launceston Town Centre, he explained that prior to May 20 the police service worked on a geographical model whereby resources were placed in each town.
They now use a functional model whereby 'hubs' have been created to deal with demands from various locations.
This means, officers who begin their duties at Launceston are now also responsible for other areas, such as Camelford and Callington while also being deployed to any incident within the surrounding areas.
