THE Growth Hub ‘On The Road’ will hold its next ‘Town Takeover’ in Launceston on Friday, February 24.

Members of the Growth Hub team will be on hand throughout the event to provide the public with information about what services are on offer.

Growth Hub is a new, full-funded, business support service, which provides a single point of access to information and guidance for businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Businesses signing up for the new service can expect a free business review, with a business connector, from the Growth Hub team.

Throughout the day there will be a number of free workshops on business topics at venues around Launceston. The workshops are free and open to any businesses in the area wanting to attend.

The workshops will be on topics which businesses have told the Growth Hub are relevant to them in informal settings. Each speaker will give tips and takeaways that businesses will be able to put to use straight away, whether by developing their website, increasing their productivity or accessing funds.

Their first stop on their Launceston town takeover will be at the TME Networking Breakfast, which will be held in the restaurant Firebrand from 8am to 10am.

From 10am to 11am the Growth Hub will hold a free workshop with ‘Export 4 Growth’ in the Liberty Suite at Jericho’s Kitchen. Ben Leonard, from Export 4 Growth, will give a talk on opening up a world of opportunity and how best a business can reach out to potential customers. Ben is from the department for international trade and will help businesses find the approach that works best for them and show people that it can be as easy to sell to Berlin as Birmingham.

Afterwards, from 11am to noon, a free workshop will be held in The Liberty Suite, Jericho’s Kitchen, with ‘Superfast Business Cornwall’. Josh Hoole, from Superfast Business Cornwall, will outline online productivity and how businesses are now able to work from anywhere.

This talk will enable businesses to learn about online office tools that can help them manage their business from anywhere.

The team will be popping up on the streets of Launceston and on the Pennygillam Industrial Estate from 11am to 2pm providing information on the new service and the opportunity to register for a free business review.

Later, between 4pm and 5.30pm, a networking and free workshop with ‘Oxford Innovations’ will be held in The Business Space in Launceston. This workshop will set out funding for businesses and what is on offer, as well as how secure different funding types are.

This will be led by Heather Coupland and Jackie George from Oxford Innovations.
