LAUNCESTON Community Hospital will re-open on Monday (April 15) following extensive work which included replacing the boiler and updating the water system throughout the general hospital site and associated buildings.

Following completion of these works, the whole water system has been disinfected and final health and safety checks and water tests have been carried out.

As part of the overall refurbishment works to the heating and water system, additional measures have been taken to ensure compliance with Infection Prevention Control.

This included fitting about 25 new sinks, new taps with thermostatic mixing valves and new flooring in areas of the hospital including the main entrance, parts of the ward and the physiotherapy department.
