TWO Launceston heavyweights have weighed in to help give a big boost to their chosen charities. The Mayor of Launceston, Cllr Paul O'Brien and Peter Casey, commercial manager of Launceston College, are embarking on a sponsored diet to help raise the money. Paul weighed in at 121kg and Peter 150.5kg. They are pictured below with Staff Nurse Marilyn Davey who officially weighed them. Paul is raising money for his chosen charity of Launceston Town Band and Peter is aiming to give a boost to Launceston Rotary Club Charities. To enlist your support, they are going on a sponsored diet. From January 26 to May 17, 2010. There will be weigh-ins at the start and finish and these will be publicised in The Cornish and Devon Post.
The sponsorship will be for their combined weight loss. They are having a side bet (also to be donated to charity) on which of them loses most.
You can contact Peter on 01288 341232 for a sponsor form.
