DURING March, Curves of Launceston will participate in the 11th Annual Curves Food Drive to benefit two charities, the Shekinah Mission, Plymouth and Women's Refuge in Truro.
Collectively, over the past five years, nearly 50 million pounds of food were distributed to local communities all over the world through the Curves Food Drive.
Curves of Launceston is also giving back to the community by waiving its normal service fee for any new member who brings in two bags of non-perishable groceries and joins between March 9 and 28.
Claire Walker, owner of the Launceston club, said this promotion will help the women of Launceston manage their weight and their wallets by joining Curves for free, while also helping support those in need in the South West.
She added: "The Curves Food Drive is always exciting. We have a chance to help so many people at a time when things might be a bit tough. During these uncertain times, these toiletries and food are needed more than ever. It's a win-win situation for everyone, and we're very proud to participate."
Others wishing to donate may drop off non-perishable food items at Curves, located at Newport Industrial Estate, Monday through Friday during business hours through the month of March. For more information, please call Jordon, Sara or Claire at 01566 777545.
