A LARGE number of teachers and students gathered by the World War One remembrance memorial at the front of Launceston College at 10.45am in an act of remembrance.
They commemorated past and present soldiers who have fought to protect our country.
Two students, Bertie Martin-Ward and Elizabeth Tincombe, read commemorative poems.
Mrs Emma Gough then led the two minutes’ silence, which was followed by the haunting and evocative sound of the ‘Last Post’, beautifully played by Walter Tucker.
Teacher Kate Samuels said: “Events like these make a real difference to us all, in that they really help us to focus on the important things and to be grateful to all those who have sacrificed so much from so many generations.”
