Following their cup winning success in the Cornwall Schools and Colleges Eastern Football League, Launceston College sixth formers have created a team that will compete in the Kingsley League at weekends.
Called Phoenix Rising Football Club, the team will be managed by Launceston College teacher Paul Martin, but will largely be run by the students themselves.
"Phoenix Rising FC is a unique opportunity for the boys to experience what it takes to run a competitive football club in a men's league," Paul said.
"They will develop key organisational skills and take on all the responsibilities that come with such a task," he added.
The team will be made up of current sixth formers, ex-students and a few keen teachers.
Although the team has organised several fundraising activities, they urgently need sponsorship or donations to help them buy the necessary kit and equipment. If you feel you can assist them, contact Paul Martin on 01566 772468 or email phoenix[email protected]">[email protected]
