LAUNCESTON College has applied for a premises licence as part of a course which will be run from the new Dunheved House.
The college has applied to Cornwall Council for a new premises licence for the building, which is located on Dunheved Road.
In a notice, printed recently in the 'Post', the application is seeking permission for: 'The supply of alcohol and provision of live and recorded music (12 noon to 11pm). Late night refreshments till 11.30pm.'
One local resident, whose home is near Dunheved House, expressed concern that it could be a 'pub' type premises, open to members of the public. He was worried that parking would be a problem, especially on Dunheved Road.
"I don't like the thought of children going to school which has the permission of an alcohol licence," said the resident.
