THE Launceston Choral Society gave a spirited version of Haydn’s great oratorio ‘The Seasons’ at Central Methodist Church recently.

The solo roles were taken by Dawn Felton (Jane), Gordon Pike (Lucas) and Julian Rippon (Simon), who gave an assured performance in the role for the first time at short notice.

David Crocker played the organ sympathetically throughout the difficult organ reduction from the orchestral score and the performance was conducted by Jonathan Mann.

The modest but appreciative audience donated over £300 to Headway, Cornwall, a charity that helps survivors of traumatic brain injury or stroke, in the retiring collection.

The concert was sponsored by WBW Solicitors incorporating Peters Langsford Davies.
