CORNWALL Council has put the two upper tier Race Hill car parks, in Launceston up for sale.
The site went on the market on January 12.
As previously reported in the 'Post', the area that has been put up for sale had been marked as a potential new site for a supermarket. Developers had approached the council late last year proposing to build a supermarket and "put the car park back on top".
Cornwall Council has now created a marketing brochure for the car parks, around 1.51 hectares. However, it plans to keep the Pannier Market Car Park as a council run short stay car park.
A link to this brochure has been made available on Cornwall Councillor for Launceston Central, Alex Folkes' website. Cllr Folkes is appalled by the decision to sell the car park.
