A LAUNCESTON author is celebrating the successful launch of her debut poetry collection.

The Deli in Church Street hosted Janet Guest's signing and poetry reading which saw her sell 23 copies of 'Bringing Out The Sunshine From Within'. Illustrator Laura Wall sold six paintings.

"I was really pleased with the amount of people who came on Saturday," said Mrs Guest. "It was a very successful event. There was a constant flow of people from 11am right through until 2.30pm.

"Two couples who had not been to Launceston before only came into The Deli because they saw something going on, both bought books and one couple bought a painting too.

"I read out a few poems throughout the day and had a very good response so we all had a great day."
